Update, Nov 28, 2004:

"We have raised the 23000.00 for the monument to honor the Confederate Veterans buried in the Chickamauga Cemetery.

The monument has been ordered and the formal dedication will in June. I will keep you informed of the progress of the project.

*Private John Ingraham of the lst Confederate Regiment of Georgia Volunteers was buried by his comrades where he fell. He is the only  veteran of the Battle of Chickamauga who is buried on the battlefield. The Chickamauga Camp of the SCV is named for him. He fought under Colonel James Clark Gordon who raised a company standing on a rock in front of the Gordon Lee Manison.
The Confederate casualties were buried at Marietta, Georgia or claimed by their families. The Union casualties are interred at the national Cemetery in Chattanooga.

The people in the list below are listed as being soldiers buried at the Chickamauga Cemetery,
and will be honored with  a flag and marker .
